At our April 20th Coalition meeting, we decided to send a letter to President Biden expressing our support for and recommending additions to the American Jobs (Infrastructure) Plan. We agreed to send the letter to our Congressional delegation as well. (See letter link here)
The Plan is a strong start towards a just transition to more equitable, sustainable energy, social and economic policies. We appreciate the robust investments in the care economy, the guarantee clean water, and community broadband for all.
However, along with Sunrise and other allies, we recommend:
*More housing investment such as the Green New Deal for Public Housing Act
*More jobs such as the Civilian Conservation Corps
*More investment in mass transit such as the Build Green Act
If enacted, this Plan represents a significant step to protect and restore both our natural and social climates, building back better than ever.
