Coalition members, including PSARA (Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action), Third Act Washington, Unitarian-Universalist Association, Sierra Club and others are working on issues for advocacy in the 2026 legislative session. One issue that is likely to come up is the state investment in coal companies, SB 5439 in the 2025 session. PSARA has published an excellent pamphlet on that. Other issues, including data centers’ use of electricity and grid resiliency, are likely to become environmental priorities for coalition members. These will be discussed in the November 18 PTGND WA coalition meeting.
