At its August meeting, the PTGND coalition endorsed “week without driving,” September 30 to October 6, 2024. According to Week without Driving sponsors, “We created the Week Without Driving challenge so that those who have the option to drive can learn firsthand about the barriers and challenges that nondrivers face and work with nondrivers to create more accessible communities for all.” In addition, the PTGND Coalition believes the week will enhance understanding of how transportation affects climate change. Walking, biking and public transportation all reduce carbon emissions.
